Planned Giving

Leave your legacy by ensuring that the needs of future seniors are met for years to come.

Our staff is ready to help you plan for your future and the future of others. The Jean Wade Legacy Society, named after our founder, was created to honor individuals who remember Meals on Wheels People in their future plans. Gift planning can provide you with a wonderful way to support Meals on Wheels People, provide financial benefits for you and your family, and leave a lasting impact on seniors in our community. There are a variety of ways planned giving may work for you.

Estates/Bequests. A gift through your will or living trust is a simple but significant way to remember Meals on Wheels People. You may designate Meals on Wheels People as beneficiary of a specific dollar amount, specific asset, or percentage of your estate.

Permanent Endowment. Establishing a permanent endowment in your name or the name of a loved one is a wonderful way to create a legacy, as well as provide ongoing funds to Meals on Wheels People. With this type of fund, a percentage of the earned income is used to carry out the purpose of the endowment while the principal remains intact.

Gift Annuities. You make an irrevocable charitable contribution of cash or marketable securities to Meals on Wheels People in exchange for a promise that you will receive a specific amount of partially tax-free income each year for life. You’ll be able to make a significant gift to help provide nutritious meals to homebound seniors while continuing to enjoy the income. At the completion of the terms of the agreement, the remainder of the original principal of the contribution will benefit Meals on Wheels People.

Gifts of Retirement Assets, Insurance Policies, Securities. Name Meals on Wheels People as a beneficiary and make an impact on the life of a senior.

Gifts of Real Estate. When you donate real estate to Meals on Wheels People, either outright or in exchange for a gift annuity or CRT, you can avoid capital gains. We also want to hear from you if you have already included Meals on Wheels People in your estate plans.

Planned gift opportunities can provide financial and tax benefits to you and your family while helping to secure the future of Meals on Wheels People. Be sure to consult with your attorney, tax accountant, or financial advisor before deciding on the best gift strategy for your individual and family circumstances.
